Hosts

Things to know:

  • If you are a head of an alumni chapter, this activity counts towards the alumni engagement requirement for the True Blue status.

  • The College of Nursing invites alumni via postcard invitations in the mail.

  • The College of Nursing sends you all the supplies you'll need for the party via package. The package will be sent up to 4 weeks before the event. Package supplies may include: a host guide, prizes, balloons, name tags, recipes, media to show at your event and other promotional material.

Things to do:

  • Secure a location for the event and serve as the host. You can use your house, a local chapel, a community center, etc. Simply a space where a small group of alumni can get together for the event (note: most events last between 1.5 to 2 hours)

Things to remember:

  • Night of Nursing parties are informal. They’re not meant to be block parties or suit-and-tie affairs. It’s just a chance for people to get together and reminisce about their days at the Y. You can provide refreshments if you want, but it’s not a requirement.

  • These parties aren’t just for BYU nursing alumni. Anyone you feel would be interested in coming (be it ward members or nurses who graduated from other schools) is completely welcome.
  • If you really feel adventurous, below are some sample Facebook and Instagram posts you can use to boost your event. Feel free to get creative with promoting it, but remember that we’ve already invited all the alumni.
